A heritage-led website that unifies Longford Estate’s many ventures into one home, built around the Castle’s own crest and colours to carry its story with quiet confidence.

The brief.

In 2022, Longford Estate was telling its story across two separate websites, longfordestates.co.uk and longfordfarms.co.uk, that did not speak to one another. The Estate is home to Longford Castle, 16,000 acres and a whole family of ventures, from farming and forestry to fishing, conservation and a celebrated art collection. It needed a single website that brought these under one roof, lifted the profile of the Estate, Farms and Fisheries, and made it simple for visitors to explore everything on offer. Above all it needed to look and feel like Longford, rooted in heritage and worthy of the Castle at its heart, while giving the team a site they could manage and grow themselves.

Our Approach.

We began with a discovery session to map the Estate’s many parts and the audiences behind each one, then drew up a clear structure to bring them together. For the design we looked to the Estate itself. We took the Longford crest and set it as a recurring mark through the site, and built a restrained palette of deep estate navy, heritage gold and soft cream drawn from the Castle and its grounds, paired with an elegant serif that lends the words the weight of the place. Full-bleed photography of the Castle, the woodland and the water meadows leads throughout, framed by generous space so each image can breathe. The result is a digital presence that feels stately without being stiff, and contemporary without losing a shred of heritage.

The results.

The new WordPress website brings every part of the Estate into one place: Longford Farms, Longford Fishing, Longford Logs, residential properties, woodland and conservation, the community programme and the National Gallery tours of the Castle’s art collection. An online shop sells Longford Logs alongside the Longford Castle book, The Treasures and the Collectors, bone china mugs and other estate merchandise, with secure payment and simple order management. A property database lets the team list, update and publish rentals in a few clicks, with email alerts for interested tenants, while our Flexi-Page system, full training and ongoing support leave them free to build new pages with the branding staying consistent throughout.

The overarching result is a single, cohesive home that carries Longford’s heritage with confidence, online and off. One site, easy to explore and easy to run, that does justice to the Castle, the land and the community the Estate supports.

The team at Unstuck Studio were professional from the outset, a real standout for us was that they were big enough to do everything we asked of them yet small enough to provide a personal touch. The team listened to us throughout the whole process, listening to what we wanted to achieve but also challenging us to deliver a better product by offering ideas to keep the site simple, eye-catching, functional and importantly within the context of our Estate brand and ethos.

A brilliant team who worked within the timescale we agreed, delivered on functionality and price. The team were great to work with during the whole process and continue to be just as helpful and supportive since the launch of the site in their maintenance and support role.
